Hey all. Just a reminder that the MoviePatron crew, alongside FilmJunk and MadAboutMovies.net have scheduled their recording of the 2nd episode of The Movie Club for November 6th. the show should be posted and available for download sometime by Wednesday or Thursday of that week.
As a reminder, be sure to catch Sergio Leone’s Duck You Sucker (aka A Fistful of Dynamite) and The Rolling Stone’s documentary, Gimme Shelter. Both films will be discussed in depth and we’d love to have you join us (free from being spoiled as we dig pretty deep) and send us your own opinions on the movies.
See ya there!

An experimental new type of Podcast is here! Presented by members of Film Junk, The Documentary Blog, MoviePatron and Mad About Movies, this new monthly podcast will feature an in depth discussion of older films we love and/or hate and everything in between.
Each month we’ll delve into two films you may or may not have seen and just have an in depth discussion about each title. Much like the traditional book club, but we’ll be talking about a far more important medium: film.
For our first episode, we dive into Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai and the fabulous and overlooked Little Children. Remember that since these are older films and we’ll be digging a little deeper into them (including plot points and story details), there will more than likely be spoilers within the discussion.
Since this is our first attempt at this, please excuse some minor sound issues and stick with us as the show should continue to improve and evolve as we get more practice. We’d love to hear technical feedback, your thoughts on any of the films discussed as well as title suggestions for future episodes. In the meantime, enjoy…
Next week: Gimme Shelter and Duck You Sucker (Giù la testa)

Sorry to those waiting for the big episode 60. Andrew was still very sick this week and Kurt is busy building his TIFF schedule - which I understand is a big task. We had talked about doing a show later in the week, but because of previous engagements it didn’t happen.
So there will be a short hiatus from the show for a couple of weeks for Kurt. But Andrew and special guest will be around sometime mid to late next week with some new reviews, various festival previews and possibly a full Fall preview edition. Sorry about the weirdness in the past couple of weeks, but I promise we will be back on track soon.
Thanks again to everyone for your support; we really appreciate it!!

To anyone who cares, sorry that there will not be a show this week for lots of reasons. Major changes at my “real” job, water skiing injury and just plain wanting to take a break from producing a show (it takes a long time). So I was debating having a show at all, then Kurt talked me into recordind a very short podcast tonight. Then I got home and found my modem fried, so that pretty much puts the nail in that coffin.
We’ll be back early next week with full blown Cinecast goodness: Bourne, Simpsons, Stardust, Rush Hour 3 (unlikely, but possible), The Ten, and a boatload of DVD recommendations and warnings. Not to mention the summer movie season is finally over which means fall greatness (Oscar bait) is almost upon us!
See you next week with episode #58!
