Saw 2 Poster Banned

From JoBlo.com…

”Unless you’re living underground with the Morlocks and CHUDs (not the web guys, the troll guys), you know by now that the MPAA regulates the content of movies through their G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17 and X rating system. But fewer people might know that the MPAA also regulates advertising content such as TV ads, radio ads and even posters. Usually a poster sent to print wouldn’t get past the keen eyes of the MPAA but when Lions Gate released their SAW II teaser poster online, it flew under the MPAA radar. Until now.

The association sent out a release this weekend stating that the poster’s content, which featured two severed fingers, was not approved and was ‘unacceptable.’ The poster, designed by Art Machine Digital of Culver City, CA, has been removed by Lions Gate from any of their official sites. We have a copy of the new, official teaser poster below for you to check out. Not quite as effective as the first, but you get the gist. It also adds the tagline, “Oh yes, there will be blood,” which is a Jigsaw quote from the movie.

No word yet on whether Lions Gate will face any fines for their release of unapproved advertising images. Since it’s already great publicity for the film, I’m guessing Lions Gate wouldn’t mind writing off a quick check…”

Ep. III to DVD

It’s official! At midnight on Halloween, I will not be at some crazy party. I will be in line at Best Buy with all the other dorks to pick up the last episode in the Star Wars prequels. Nov 1 is the release date, which means dozens of stores around town will open its doors at midnight to the cheers of 100s of SW disciples at each one. It should be even more fun to see everyone in costume. Although most will likely be dressed as their favorite SW character (i.e. Boba Fett, tons of Storm Troopers, Darth Vader and legions of Jedi) my plan as of today is to be Lara Croft…should be interesting.

Anyway, here is a cover shot of what the DVD will most likely look like:

Here is a link to a post I made about this back in May ‘05. It’s got a link of it’s own to some other pics of what the DVD itself may look like.

See ya at Best Buy in a couple of months!
